What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is a holistic treatment that uses pure essential oils (fragrant plant extracts) to promote health and well-being. As a holistic treatment, it can have a profound effect on the person’s physical and psychological well-being. Scent is known to have the power to transform emotions and feelings and this is enhanced through the natural organic compounds within specific essential oils. Aromatherapy is an integral part of the Aroma Freedom Technique (AFT) because it harnesses the power of essential oils to support emotional release and create a positive and lasting transformation.
How is it done?
Aroma Freedom Technique utilizes a combination of your thoughts, feelings, and body sensations to determine how your body is "holding" these unwanted beliefs. This information is utilized in conjunction with specific essential oils to release the unpleasant and increase positive thoughts, feelings, and expressions. This is done through a targeted progression and guided by a certified practitioner.
Why do you use oils?
Essential oils are the most powerful part of the plant! They are distilled from flowers, shrubs, trees, roots, bushes, rinds, resins, and herbs.
When you inhale an essential oil, the compounds (terpenes) enter the nasal cavity and access the olfactory bulb to activate your brain. This process takes about 3 seconds!
The amygdala is a part of the brain where emotional memories are stored and is directly impacted by scent. Anxiety, fear, anger, and joy all emanate from this area. This is why when we smell something we have specific memories connected to that scent, kinda like cookies and the holidays. Because of this, essential oils can have profound psychological and physiological effects which enhances the release of the unpleasant or unwanted memories and beliefs.
What oils are used in this approach?
Aroma Freedom uses a specific combination of oils including Frankincense, Lavender, Stress Away™, Inner Child™, Release, Transformation and others to accomplish impressive results.
It is important to note that this process uses the highest quality essential oils available as they are being inhaled directly into your brain. For this reason, it is important to ensure the plant material is grown without toxins so that the oils do not contain this either. Additionally, you do not want to use essential oils that contain synthetic fragrances or other man-made compounds. They simply won't work the same and may be detrimental to you.
