Do God's commands ever feel more like a cage than a gift? At Mount Sinai, God gave His law to a people He had already rescued, and that changes everything about how we live it.
This study takes you through Exodus 19–24, from Israel's arrival at Sinai to the covenant sealed in blood. You'll discover:
- An offer before a command: why rescue and belonging came before a single rule
- The weight of holiness: thunder, fire, and a God who is both near and set apart
- Ten words for a free people: what each commandment protects, from Sabbath rest to the heart's desires
- A whole way of life: care for the poor, the widow, and the foreigner
- Sealed in blood: a covenant, not a contract, fulfilled in Christ's "new covenant in my blood"
Included:
- A easy-to-follow word study on three Hebrew words, "covenant" (berith), "holy" (qadosh), and "justice" (mishpat)
- 6 group discussion questions and 6 personal journal prompts
- A complete 60-minute Leader's Guide with a timed session flow, two timestamped podcast audio clips, deeper theology, everyday examples for both men and women, and pastoral notes for sensitive questions
This is the companion to Episode 167 of the Living on Purpose In Christ podcast with Pastor Paula. It works well for small groups, women's or men's ministries, or personal devotion.
