Goodness & Mercy Spirit Talk Collection, Book 5
22 messages on the goodness and mercy that follow us all the days of our lives
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.” Preached to a real congregation, these messages trace God’s goodness and mercy through the everyday seasons of faith: mending broken relationships, finding wisdom, keeping our spiritual momentum, and discovering that God can bring good out of what was meant for harm.
Each message opens with the full Scripture reading and a story that draws you in. There’s the church secretary’s little blue bottle of correction fluid that covers our mistakes, the firefighter whose life depends on his protective gear, and the young boy who asked for a globe of the world for Christmas.
Inside, you’ll find messages such as:
• Repairing Relationships: putting off the old self and forgiving as Christ forgave us (Ephesians 4)
• Maintaining Momentum: planted like a tree by streams of water (Psalm 1)
• God Intends It for Good: the Beatitudes as a path to healing and recovery
• The Bread Is Important! and To Know God: Jesus, the Bread of Life (John 6)
• The Gift of Wisdom: what Solomon asked for and why it matters
• The Proper Attire: putting on the full armor of God
• Your Dreams Are Too Small: true greatness in the kingdom of God
• The ABC’s of Revelation: the hope of all things made new
A journey through the Gospel of Mark
Several messages walk with Jesus through Mark’s Gospel, from Who Is He? and Service and Greatness to Be Like Salt and And He Followed Jesus, the story of blind Bartimaeus.
From Advent to a new year
The collection closes with Advent and Christmas messages, So You Want to Go to Bethlehem and Searching for Jesus, followed by New Beginnings, God’s promise of a new covenant written on our hearts, and The Hope of Love from 1 Corinthians 13.
Includes a Scripture index, so you can easily find a message on the passage you’re studying or preaching.
