The apostle Paul gives a description of the heavenly city as he quotes the prophet Isaiah saying: As it is written: No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him (1 Corinthians 2:9-10). New and Old Testament writers try their best to describe that which is humanly indescribable. And in the most suitable language available to him, an apocalyptic language, John gives to us some very revealing glimpses of the reality concerning the final aspects of the Kingdom of God in all of its splendor and glory. Christianity is a religion of the divine presence. Reconciliation with our Lord and our God is what is at the very heart of our faith. And that's what John's vision is about.
