Menopause Essentials 9
We all start at square one with our knowledge of health, but what matters is our willingness to learn and grow, and one great way to do that is through reading. Each month we grow together by reading a specific resource and taking daily steps to implement healthy habits into our lifestyle. There are so many incredible books out there to help us grow in our health in every area, and here is one of our favorites for hormones and intimacy:

Menopause Essentials: The Ultimate Guide to Optimal Aging - This is the ideal book for women who want to prepare for perimenopause, through the woman in late menopause

Aging often visibly accelerates in menopause and preparation for aging and menopause with the proper tools is key. There is scientific backing that supports the use of aromatherapy essential oils and herbal medicine to provide menopause and aging relief. Unfortunately, taking vitamins and essential oils is not a one size fits all proposition and a woman with one symptom may have different needs to address the symptom in comparison to her counterpart with the same symptom. With a little guidance you can learn to identify menopausal and aging signs and which essential oils can alleviate any associated symptoms.
Learn how essential oils can help manage some of the discomforts of menopause.

Shifting hormones can cause all kinds of issues during menopause. Fortunately, essential oils can manage many of these symptoms.

MY STORY
Hot flashes are my biggest complaint as I seek to mature gracefully. Hormone replacement, prescribed by my doctor did work well to relieve the discomfort, but I had heard about the the side effects of such. I did take synthetic hormones for several years, because I didn't know what else to do, but then I discovered essential oils. That's when I decided (with the support of my gynecologist) to try them instead. He said that oils do work well for some women and if they didn't work for me I could always call him for a prescription refill. Well, from that day forward, I am delighted to say that the oils did work as well (or maybe even better) than hormone replacement program I had been on. So what is menopause?

"Menopause occurs when a woman stops menstruating, most often between age 45 and 55. The diagnosis is made when the woman hasn’t had her period for 12 months in a row. The transition from being premenopausal to post-menopausal can last up to 10 years. The lead-up to “the change” is called perimenopause; the after time is post-menopause. During these years, the levels of the hormones estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone drop off. Menopause can be induced artificially by removal of the ovaries or through chemotherapy." MORE

Needless to say menopause has been challenging since I happen to be "in the group of women who 'flash' for the rest of life," as my doctor put it. Thank goodness for essential oils and oil infused supplements, though!! I am so happy that I've found a safe and natural option that not only works, but that I can feel good about. I did have to try several Young Living products until I arrived at the solution for me, but the peace of mind that I now have has made it oh, sooo worth it. The good thing is that Young Living has many choices for us to try. If one oil/supplement doesn't do the trick for you, more than likely, another will. There are actually several products that many have found helpful.

What is PD 80/20
According to Lindsey Elmore,

PD 80/20 is a dietary supplement formulated to support the endocrine system. As the simplest hormone supplement offered by Young Living, it contains only two ingredients to help restore hormone balance, as well as impact mental acuity and memory.

What It’s For: As we age, our body’s ability to produce DHEA and pregnenolone begins to decline. This supplement supplies both of these vital hormones to support the endocrine system and improve memory and cognition.

Ingredient Highlight: PD 80/20 contains 80% pregnenolone and 20% DHEA. Pregnenolone is the key precursor for the body’s production of estrogen, DHEA, and progesterone. DHEA is involved in maintaining the health of the cardiovascular and immune systems. These hormones also provide basic building blocks for sex steroid synthesis and support normal bone health.

Who Should Take PD 80/20: This supplement is specifically for men and women over the age of 20 who need endocrine support.

I have discovered that a combination of oil blends, Endoflex & Dragontime + Clary Sage (a single oil) & my go-to supplement Femigen do an incredible job of taking care of those pesky hot-flashes and other menopause symptoms for me. Do keep in mind that everyone is different and these are not the only YL options available.
